Technical innovations and advantages of the Extraction System B-811

  • Automatic sequencing
The electronic unit controls the sequence of the three phases (extraction, rinsing, drying) of between one to four samples in parallel. No manual intervention is necessary after programming activity and the starting instructions have been completed.

  • Quicker execution of the extraction process
Two built-in heating sources per extraction location and optimal heat transfer permit the use of high-boiling point solvents. Moreover, control by means of the optical sensor makes it possible for the user to optimize the exchange of the solvent from a timing point of view, to increase the material exchange (analyte / solvent) and, at the same time, to economize in solvent consumption

  • Better operating protection thanks to higher safety standards
Cooling water, level of solvent and heat source are directly monitored, the complete apparatus is specially produced to view complete tightness of joints while a protective shield provides an extra precaution.

  • Sample-compatible drying
In the case of heat-sensitive samples, the extract can be concentrated in a protective mode and oxidation-sensitive samples can additionally be extracted and dried in an inert gas atmosphere.

  • Sample purity is maintained at all times
All components in contact with the sample are inert so the possibility of contamination of the sample, or carry-over of additives to sealing membranes is eliminated.

Economical use of solvent by adjusting the optical sensor according to the sample's volume and solvent recovery.

The integrated inert gas supply avoids the oxidation of the extract during drying.

Soxhlet standard:
Official method for many extractions, e.g. fat determination.

Form an analytical point of view the unit?s inertness meets the high demands in the field of residue and trace analysis. Parts coming in contact with the media are inert (glass, PTFE, Fluorez®). No risk of contamination or memory effects !

The extraction of large sample volumes is possible. The extraction chamber is spacious enough to hold the large 41x123 mm extraction thimble as an alternative to the glass sample tube with frit (Standard) of 120 ml.

Find more information under B-811 LSV.

A major advantage is the easy handling of the glass parts.

Every extraction mode can be set up with three steps ? extraction, flushing and drying ? which are computer controlled guaranteeing reproducible conditions and reliable results.

Whether it?s Soxhlet extraction or hot extraction there is no need of assembly conversions. All four extraction positions are autonomously monitored and can be activated individually.

The use of solvents with boiling points up to 150°C is possible because of the high heating power of the heating elements and the optimum heat transfer.

Highly efficient sealing system:

high degree of tightness and solvent recovery.

The process is continually monitored and safety is guaranteed throughout the extraction process.

Up to 6 x faster than conventional soxhlet.

Optimally designed for the Rotavapor.
