Temperature range
Over which temperature range is the sample preparation possible?
Many samples can be better minced and homogenised at lower temperature. For this purpose we supply a special membrane of PVDF (polyvinylidene fluorid), which allows a sample preparation in a temperature range from 40°C up to +150°C.
Trace element analysis
Is it possible to prepare samples for trace element analysis?
Yes. To avoid contamination the BUCHI Mixer B-400 is available with components made from material like brosilicate glass, inert plastics (PP and Peek) and titanium. The cutting knife is made from high quality ceramic.
Microbiological tests
Can I use the B-400 for sample preparation for microbiological tests?
If you use the PVDF membrane, all parts contacting the sample permits autoclave sterilization.
Re-sharpening the knifes
Is it possible to re-sharpening the knifes?
- The stainless steel knives can be sharpened at the BUCHI factory.
- The ceramic knives can not be re-sharpened.

How safe is the operation of the B-400?
The BUCHI Mixer B-400 has been awarded the official GS mark for Tested Safety meeting maximum requirements on safe operation and functionality.
